A crowd of 14 local leaders, business people and associates of Virtual Storefronts gathered on Saturday to welcome the not-quite-complete Landmark Sign in a ceremony like a boat christening.
Leaders joining us at the January 8 Sign Christening included members of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nola Cooper, Jan Olson and Ray Miller, along with Executive Director Sherry Raines of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. Virtual Storefront Partner business owners included Jan Olson of FernCrest Winery, Tom Rodeck of Lily Pad Suites and Rodeck ROI Realty, and Mitch Briggs of Smoky Mountain Signs. Tom’s other company Accent Awnings built the sign and Mitch Briggs cut and applied the layout. The sign was designed by the original Virtual Storefronts logo designer, Brandon Emerson at Hoofcase in Manhattan Beach, California.
Speakers included a prayer and blessing by Don Duncan; introduction by Ray Miller; and soap box speech by Tobin Brogunier followed by the reason for the occasion..
The Christening completed the event thanks to my lovely wife Rachel Brogunier, who had the honor of smashing the champagne bottle live on Facebook – this link contains the entire event video.
